At the Aug. 25 regular meeting the council voted to introduce two ordinances and set public hearings for Sept. 8, 2025. Ordinance 09-2025 would authorize sale of borough-owned parcels identified as Block 21 Lot 27 and Block 26.09 Lot 39. Ordinance 11-2025 would amend the borough salary ordinance to change the tax collector's salary and add two Laborer 1 positions (one with CDL and one without).
Councilman DeMeo moved to introduce both ordinances; Councilwoman Lame and Councilman Gandarinho seconded the respective motions and roll-call votes recorded unanimous yeas. The minutes note that Ordinance 09-2025's public hearing will be held Sept. 8, 2025, and that Ordinance 11-2025 will have its hearing the same date. Both items proceed to the public hearing and possible adoption process on that date.
The introduction places the ordinances on the agenda for the statutory hearing; the council did not adopt either ordinance at this meeting. Voters may see related referendum language discussed elsewhere on the agenda; the council discussed communications that will identify block and lot numbers so the public understands which parcels are affected.
Next steps: public hearings on Sept. 8, 2025, when the ordinances will be open to comment and potential adoption.
