Council authorizes clerk to advertise for DPW assistant supervisor following resignation

After receiving a resignation effective Aug. 1, 2025, council authorized the clerk to advertise for a DPW Assistant Supervisor with an application deadline of July 31, 2025; vote was unanimous.
The council discussed a resignation tendered by Mr. Kinney effective August 1, 2025 and debated whether to advertise for an assistant supervisor or supervisor position in the Department of Public Works. Counsel and members discussed costs and whether to advertise on the League posting and other venues.
The council passed a motion authorizing the borough clerk to advertise for the DPW Assistant Supervisor position with a deadline of July 31, 2025. Councilwoman Ruitenberg suggested leaving the posting open until filled, but the final action set a July 31 deadline for the initial advertisement. The motion passed on a roll-call vote with all present voting in favor.
Council also noted the tax collector vacancy will be discussed at the next meeting.
