The Ogdensburg Mayor and Council approved Resolution 73-2025 on Aug. 11 authorizing purchase, installation and monitoring of two SimpliSafe Custom Home Security Systems — one for the Ogdensburg Fire House and one for the Ogdensburg Historical Society. The packet lists a hardware cost of $1,454.40 for two systems, setup fees of $250 and $350, and monthly monitoring charges that bring the total through Dec. 31, 2025 to $2,214.40; the Certified Finance Officer certified funds were available.
The purchase was approved on the consent agenda (motion by Councilman DeMeo, second by Councilwoman Cowdrick). The resolution text included the line-item costs in the motion record. The council did not receive public comment on the cameras during the meeting. The Council directed that the systems be installed and monitored through the end of 2025 as authorized by the adopted resolution.
