Cheyenne Seria of MRB Group presented a strategic‑planning proposal to the Herkimer County IDA that would consist of two three‑hour workshops with staff pre‑work and a final report documenting strengths, opportunities and recommended next steps. She said the firm combines engineering, architecture and economic‑development practice, and would produce a report with infographics and the option to present findings to the board.
Board members pressed on scheduling and staff/board time. Seria said the key is "getting the right people in the room" and that workshop timing should be adjusted to suit participants; she also offered an optional dashboard and follow‑up evaluation not included in the base scope to keep the initial price down. Several board members said the six‑hour commitment may be difficult given members' outside jobs and two absences; one member suggested tabling the item until more members could be present. The board did not finalize a contract during the meeting and directed staff to return with clarified timing and scope.
