McCullom Lake board approves $2,220 purchase of two AEDs for police and village hall

The McCullom Lake Village Board voted May 27 to purchase two refurbished automated external defibrillators (AEDs) recommended by Police Chief Beatty.
Chief Beatty told the board the police department's AED was out of service and said the two refurbished units, which include four-year warranties, cost $2,220. "The cost is $2220.00," he said. Trustee Denise Bogacz moved to buy the two AEDs and Trustee Walter seconded; the motion passed by voice vote with Trustees Bogacz, Fritz, Vick, Walter and Zakrocky recorded as ayes.
The board directed staff to order one AED for the police department and one for the village hall; placement was described as the police department and by the village hall bookcase in the office hallway.
