Oxnard CIO recommends $1.13 million three-year renewal for Google Workspace licenses

Rob Rubin, chief information officer for the City of Oxnard, told the Finance and Governance Committee he recommends the city renew a three-year licensing agreement with Daido LLC for Google Workspace products to support city operations and police data compliance. "The recommendation is that the finance and governance committee recommend that city council approve agreement 32700084 with Daido LLC for the purpose of purchasing Google Enterprise and Productivity Suite licenses for 3 years in the amount of $1,026,153," Rubin said. He described the package as including 1,650 Enterprise licenses to support staffing growth, 1,005 archive licenses to preserve former employees' data per the city's retention policy, and 425 Assured Controls Plus licenses to meet FBI CJIS security requirements for police data access.

Rubin said the negotiated cost is $342,051 per year (about $1,026,153 over three years), which he described as roughly 63% below list price, and that staff requests a 10% contingency for additional user licenses for a total three-year authorization of $1,128,768. He stated funds are available in the IT department's annual budget and concluded by inviting committee questions.
