Atain Partners begins 12‑week readiness assessment for state ERP project

The committee heard that Atain Partners has started a 12‑week readiness assessment intended to identify readiness gaps and recommend corrective actions before the state proceeds with a unified Workday go‑live.
"We executed that amendment a couple weeks ago. We're now in the 2nd week of that readiness, 12 week readiness assessment," Sean Brown, deputy secretary at the Agency of Administration, told the committee. Brown said Atain will look at project management and governance, the financial modules and their operating model, HCM validation, data conversion and integration readiness, and change management and stakeholder engagement.
Brown said the Atain amendment was "around $630,000" and that the state plans to cover that cost with carry‑forward budget from the current year. The agencies will use Atain's written recommendations and then develop an implementation plan to inform any Guidehouse contract amendments and funding decisions.
Committee members asked how extensively the Atain work will address risks identified in a prior JFO report; Brown said Atain aims to address most, if not all, of those previously flagged risks. The agency will return with the assessment outputs and any recommended implementation steps.
