Board sets Nov. 18 date for Newcastle bond election; approves resolution

The Newcastle Board of Education voted on Aug. 19 to approve a resolution calling a special election on Nov. 18, 2025, to ask district voters to authorize general obligation bonds. The resolution set the election date and directed staff to specify amount, purposes, maturity and interest limitations and polling places as part of the formal call.
Dr. Cathy Walker acknowledged the bond committee members in attendance and presented the projects the proposed bond would cover. The motion to approve the resolution passed with a 3–0 vote of members present (Dalton, Gilbertson and Lock), with two members absent.
Board materials included the Exhibit 'Y' Estimate of Needs and supporting bond schedules showing purpose and debt-service estimates. The resolution gives the district authority to finalize election details and to begin the administrative steps required to notify voters and the county offices of the election schedule.
