The Wellston Board of Education discussed a proposed Virtual Academy application and associated regulations at meetings in April and May but did not approve the application or adopt regulations.
At the April 10 special meeting and again at the May 8 regular meeting the board reviewed progress on developing the Virtual Academy application and regulations. Meeting minutes record that the virtual academy item generated discussion and that no action was taken at either meeting. The virtual academy committee was noted to be meeting again (packet indicates the committee met the day before and would meet again), meaning the item remains under review.
Board members and administration indicated the item requires further work before the board will be asked to vote; staff and committee members will prepare materials and bring a finalized application back for consideration.
