Wellston board approves consent agenda and dozens of instructional contracts

The Wellston Board of Education voted to approve its consent agenda and a bundled set of instructional and service contracts at its May 8 meeting, a routine action the board said would support classroom and operational services for the coming year.
Board members approved the consent agenda items — covering minutes, treasurer’s reports and fund payments — and later approved contracts listed as items 5.4.1 through 5.4.13, including Mystery Science, IXL, Accelerated Reader (Renaissance Learning), NWEA, OSSBA employment and policy services, Nikki Keck Visual Services and Alcohol & Drug Testing Inc. A motion to “approve contracts in mass, items 5.4-5.13” was made by Brock Terrell and seconded by Bradley Pittman; the motion carried on a 5–0 vote.
The minutes record an earlier vote on item 4.1 (approval of minutes from April 10, 2025) where board members Bradley Pittman and Brock Terrell registered “Abstain (With Conflict),” while other members voted yea. Board clerks and administration provided the Treasurer’s Report and fund summaries as part of the consent business.
Board members said the bundled approvals would streamline procurement and ensure vendors serving curriculum and student services were in place before the next school year. The motions were recorded in the minutes and carried by roll call votes.
The board will continue procurement and project-specific bid actions (bond-related bids, for example) at future meetings when details and vendor contracts return for award.
