Forest Service geologist details new mine-plan notices and exploration projects near Elko

Basso said the Adobe (Dobie) George Mine Plan NOI is the largest recent submittal, describing a forthcoming mine-plan document and general project area roughly 62 miles northwest of Elko and about 12 miles SSW of Mountain City. She also described Wood Gulch Exploration activities that resumed in 2025 with nine holes drilled from newly constructed pads, an ongoing Jarrett Canyon Exploration EA, and a Big Springs North plan from NOVA Metals proposing exploration activities under a multi-year program covering tens of thousands of acres.
Basso said the Bayon Spring South NOI and a Trigg Minerals NOI were recently received as small mining-project submissions and that the Forest Service was preparing responses or requests for full plans of operations where needed.
