Board approves two‑year contract for transportation claim review services

"Administration recommends that the board approve a 2 year contract with transportation claim review services with the goal of being to maximize district transportation claims as well as improve internal processes," Mr. Glassman said in his presentation. He noted a memo and a letter of recommendation were provided to the board summarizing three years of prior work by the consultants.
Board members asked whether the agreement would be revisited after two years and whether the decision was a routine administrative action because the contract was under the district's $35,000 threshold. Mr. Glassman said that, at the end of two years, the district would ideally have learned enough to discontinue the service or, if it wished to continue, the administration would bring the matter back to the board.
A motion to approve the transportation claim review services was moved, seconded and approved on roll call. One board member said they had reservations about outsourcing the work but supported it as a learning opportunity for district staff.
