Daniel Jordan, identified in the hearing as the restaurant's general manager, told the board City Barbecue is a counter‑service barbecue restaurant that will offer a small bottled beer selection and estimated only "maybe 2 to $300 a month in in beer sales." He said staff "will go through the, TABC training" and that customers will purchase beer at the counter; Jordan confirmed the business would not offer draft beer.
Board members also asked about hours and manager training. Jordan said the planned hours are 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sundays, and that managers and shift leaders will hold required certification. The board closed the hearing, took a motion to approve the on‑premise permit and voted in favor; the chair told the applicant the permit could be picked up after 10 a.m. the next day.
