Alana Basso and Elizabeth Buentes (BLM) told the commission that Maverick Springs submitted a third modification to increase exploration disturbance from 60 acres to 200 acres. Buentes said the plan of operations was received within the last month and baseline surveys would be conducted this spring.
"And they're looking to go from 60 acres of disturbance right now for exploration up to 200 acres of disturbance," Buentes said. The BLM did not announce final mitigation or stipulations at the meeting and characterized the project as being in the planning and baseline-survey stage.
Commissioners were told the agency is working through the plan and will report further updates as surveys and consultations proceed.
