Staff asked the council to authorize the mayor to execute terms for a six-month Robot Zoo exhibit rental at the Smyrna Outdoor Adventure Center. Mike (speaker 11) said the group requested a six-month term instead of the usual three months so the exhibit can run from January through September, which would reduce the frequency of take-down and reinstallation and lower freight costs.
Mike said they would pursue a 2,500-square-foot version that is appropriate for field trips and families and that the larger term helps cover both the school year and the summer-camp season. He told council there are cost savings from avoiding frequent freight and downtime during peak visitation months. The proposal was presented for council consideration in the consent agenda; no formal action was recorded in the workshop.
