Macksburg council approves agenda, consent items; OKs street closure for local benefit

At its July 6 meeting the Macksburg City Council approved the agenda and consent items unanimously, agreed to close streets for the Aubree Benefit, and directed follow-ups on a food pantry pause and a siren grant application.
Mayor Kevin Jackson called the July 6, 2026, meeting of the Macksburg City Council to order at 6:00 P.M. Council Member Matt Owens moved to approve the meeting agenda; Council Member Rhonda Dean seconded and the motion carried unanimously. The council also approved the consent agenda, which included the June 1, 2026 minutes, the June Treasurer's Report, and the July bills (motions recorded at SEG 010 and SEG 014).
The council approved a street closure for the Aubree Benefit after a motion by Council Member Logan Lande, seconded by Matt Owens, and discussed a number of administrative items: a proposed pause for the local food pantry pending talks with two churches, a clerk-led grant application for a new civil defense siren and relocation, and plans to gather bids for culvert and ditch repair. The meeting adjourned at 7:36 P.M.; the next regular meeting is scheduled for Aug. 3, 2026, at 6:00 P.M.
