Superintendent reports facility updates, SRO grant door work and deed for softball left field

Superintendent Jeff Thompson reported to the Sharon-Mutual Board of Education on Jan. 15 that several facilities projects are underway and that a property deed recently changed hands in the district's favor. "All the surplus vehicles have been sold and are being picked up except for the brown car and it is on its 3rd time of being sold," Thompson said. He told the board that SRO Safety Grant money has been used to install doors in the Sharon gym and that a window project will start soon; panels are being made for a safety fence and Thompson said he will meet with the county about removing the old fence.
Thompson also reported that "the deed, for the 2 lots that make up left field on the softball field, has been acquired from Marvin Corser. The school now owns that property." Board members did not raise further questions during the report.
