The Sharon‑Mutual Board of Education voted Sept. 11 to accept Rockin S Supply’s $28,125.60 bid to install perimeter fencing around the Ag building and the football field on the Mutual campus. The board approved use of School Resource Officer (SRO) funds for the project; the motion was made by Eddie White and seconded by Bill J. Clem and carried with three members present.
Superintendent Jeff Thompson described site work plans and timing: "the baseball field will be torn out and rocked (rock will be donated), they will put solar lights at the entrances and any other areas needed, and there will no longer be access to the Ag building." Board members said the project will begin after football season so it will be ready by next season. Two bids were presented: Karn’s Construction for $57,865.00 and Rockin S Supply for $28,125.60. Votes recorded: Jeremy Baggett — Yea; Bill J. Clem — Yea; Eddie White — Yea; two members absent.
