The Sharon-Mutual Board approved Project 376 funding to support a School Resource Officer and additional security upgrades. Superintendent Jeff Thompson told the board that "$30,000.00 will go to pay for Resource Officer, the remaining balance will go for further security of school buildings and campuses such as secured entries (modern doors and locks), better communication systems, and cameras." The board voted to approve the proposal, 3–0 with two members absent.
Board members discussed removing the baseball field to add perimeter fencing for improved vehicle safety but ultimately decided to hold off on installing the fence pending further consideration.
