Board approves girls wrestling, handbooks and calendar; activity reports note strong fall sports start

At its Sept. 8 session, the board approved multiple routine items supporting student activities and operations, including a motion to add Girls Wrestling as a sport for the 2025–26 school year.
The board also approved the 2025–26 student, activity and staff handbooks and the updated 2025–26 school calendar. Activity and principal reports presented in the packet documented enrollment numbers (elementary total 73; secondary total 91), Fall MAPS and Fastbridge testing, and fall sports: varsity football was listed 2–0 and varsity volleyball 3–0 through early September. Coaches and program leads were named for several activities: Kelli Walz (FCCLA), Kelsey Phillips (FFA), Megan Anderson (Journalism) and Kyler Horn (Play Production). The board received an update on a staff well-being survey project being developed by Dane Peterson with Kara Connealy.
