Myers outlined related capital items described in the packet: a plumbing lining contract (camera inspection and cured‑in‑place lining) quoted at $77,680, to be paid from a sales‑tax fund; cabling and 9‑1‑1 systems work (roughly $27,000) to extend servers and camera systems to the renovated areas; replacement or repair of specialized dispatch consoles (noting past repair costs around $8,000–$11,000 depending on labor); and a walk‑in refrigerator/freezer sized about 16×7 feet to store food for detention operations. Myers said the contractor and engineers will complete final HVAC engineering and then re‑bid specific mechanical work to seek potential savings.
After discussion, a motion to approve purchase orders 7991 through 7998 for the law‑enforcement renovation and related projects passed on the recorded voice vote. Myers cautioned that the renovation is a complex design‑build effort with potential change orders if scope changes are requested after construction begins.
