A proposal to place a small electrical shed near an existing radio/television tower on Augusta Street was approved with conditions by the Fall River Conservation Commission on Aug. 3. The applicant proposed locating the shed adjacent to an existing gravel access drive; staff said the tower and many underground wires were already permitted and that the shed could be placed farther from the buffer.
Commissioners added three conditions before issuing the order: the applicant must pay the appropriate fee for the wetland delineation category, add a note that the property is located in FEMA Zone A, and show the 100-foot buffer on the site plan. Commissioner Tim McCoy moved the motion to issue the order with those conditions and it passed by roll call.
A nearby resident who said he lives on Augusta Street offered to provide the requested line, telling the commission, "I'll show the line, and I'll get that to you... Tomorrow, Wednesday." The commission also asked the applicant to include the FEMA-zone notation as a plan note rather than a separate mapped zone if preferred. The order was issued conditionally and the applicant will provide the revised plan and fee to staff for finalization.
