Staff reported that the muralist is prepared to start work and requested council approval to pay half of the $6,432 quote up front to cover supplies, with the balance paid at completion.
"The quote for the mural was $6,432. The mural has requested that one-half of this be put up front for supplies, and then the remainder of the project will be paid when he's complete," said the staff member overseeing downtown projects. A motion to allow the payment was made, seconded, and the meeting recorded an "Aye" with no further discussion.
Staff said the general contractor Jeremy Miller will bring a scissor lift on-site so the town will not have to rent one, reducing equipment cost for the mural installation. The council agreed to notify committee members of the muralist's pre-start meeting and will finalize timing as the weather allows.
