Treasurer: Elco TV District reports strong cash balance, plans spending on Ruby Vista

Marissa, the district treasurer, presented the financial statements and said the board has about $750,000 in the bank and expects to spend a substantial portion on the Ruby Vista building. "We actually, need to start spending some money... we've got, dollars 750,000 in the bank," Marissa said, and said she will produce a statement of cash flows for the next meeting to help the board focus on cash availability rather than GAAP presentation.
Marissa suggested training sessions for two board members at a time to improve budget oversight and to clarify the difference between book accounting and physical cash flow. The board voted to approve the treasurer's report by voice vote and directed Marissa to prepare the cash-flow statement and training materials for upcoming meetings.
