Elco TV District says new redundant fiber circuit restored service after multiple cuts

Board member Ken reported that the district experienced a series of extended fiber outages during the last service period and that staff coordinated public notices and technical responses. "The cutover occurred Monday, 02/09/2026, which was this last Monday from 12PM to 7PM," Ken said, describing testing that showed automated failover worked as expected. He said the district will add a second local router (about $1,000) to remove the last single point of failure.
Ken said technicians also reset several transcoders remotely and continue equipment maintenance across remote sites. The board voted to accept the repair/service report and associated site updates by voice vote, with the motion carrying. The approval followed Ken's explanation of ongoing steps to harden redundancy and to post outage notices to elco.tv and the district Facebook page.
