Susan, fiscal staff for the E911 board, presented the surcharge report and a summary of revenues and obligations.
Susan said since the inception of the E911 fund there has been about $4.2 million in revenue, roughly $3.7 million of which came from surcharges. Year‑to‑date revenue through January was about $367,000; expenditures to date were discussed and Susan reported a fund balance of approximately $2,300,000 at month‑end. She cautioned that projects already approved but not completed will reduce unobligated balance toward statutory limits and reminded the board that large capital projects require time to accrue funds.
Board members noted that a single large project — the recently approved console upgrade — consumed roughly one year of surcharge revenue, underscoring the need to balance small recurring purchases against larger capital obligations. Staff said the budget review window will open between Feb. 13 and March 13 for departments to present project lists and that the board will review obligations and project timelines at future meetings.
