Commission approves FanDuel house-rule changes to allow three esports events

The Massachusetts Gaming Commission voted 4-0 to approve house-rule revisions submitted by Betfair Interactive US LLC doing business as FanDuel that add an esports section and related wagering and settlement rules.
Sports-wagering staff outlined the changes, telling the Commission the proposed language covers settlement procedures for abandoned matches, replayed matches, overtime and prop wagers and applies only to sports-related esports markets. "If approved, this would allow FanDuel to begin offering esports on their platform and only offer the 3 events which we approved back in February," staff said, naming e-basketball, e-football and e-soccer via SIS.
Commission discussion was limited and supportive; a motion to approve the updates was made and seconded, and the Commission voted unanimously to adopt the house-rule changes filed in the commissioner’s packet. Staff said the changes do not expand offerings beyond the three approved esports events and do not include non-sport maps or markets.
