The Wellston Board of Education approved authorizing the Oklahoma State Department of Education to pay Wellston’s FY2025–26 Alternative Education Academy allocation to Stroud Public Schools.
The motion (moved by Brock Terrell, seconded by Tyler Barnes) carried 5–0. The authorization appears to be an administrative step allowing Stroud to serve Wellston students under the state Alternative Education cooperative-process form; the meeting packet includes a blank Authorization to Pay form and identifies Stroud Public School as the receiving LEA.
Separately, the board discussed a Virtual Academy application and its regulations but took no action on that item during this meeting. The Virtual Academy item remains on the agenda for future consideration.
