He recommended reclassifying commission aides to the executive administrative assistant pay grade, saying that three aides are already near or within that pay band and that fully moving remaining aides to that level would cost roughly $5,000–$6,000 in total per year.
Commissioners expressed general support for equitable pay and for discussing an updated job title that better reflects responsibilities — options mentioned included “executive aid to the commission,” “constituent services coordinator,” and “commission operations coordinator.” Commissioners agreed there was consensus to include the pay-grade reclassification in the next reclassification docket and to finish deciding on an official title at the August 10 workshop.
President Peduzzi emphasized the change could be handled within the existing administrative-assistant framework rather than creating a new director-level role, and he asked the administration to place the item on the August 10 work session agenda for finalization.
