"I move that the historic preservation board approve application number HPB201... the motion is based on the testimony presented along with the application submitted in the staff report," the motioning member said at the meeting.
Staff had recommended a cautious approach that prioritizes repair but acknowledged the applicant’s claim that a large portion of the siding is deteriorated. The board’s conditional approval directs staff to work with the applicant to identify salvageable original material for the street‑facing frontage; the remainder of the elevations may be wrapped with dimensionally matching cementitious siding. The motion was seconded and the presiding chair announced the motion carries.
