Kevin Soonholz, the property owner, walked the board through a multi-part fence proposal, saying the project addresses safety around a drainage trench and screens several exterior AC units. He described a cedar privacy fence, a Tudor-brown AC screen (also cedar) and a chain-link section that would be largely concealed by shrubs and plantings. "It's in the interior back, so it's not facing…kind of blocked from any neighbors," Soonholz explained when asked about the chain link's visibility.
Board members suggested where wood might be preferable where the chain-link will be exposed and encouraged additional planting along visible stretches. The applicant agreed to consult with his contractor to consider matching materials in exposed areas. The board moved and seconded an approval; members present voted to approve the application.
