The Forest Hills Board approved distribution of Section 27L funds under the FY 2025-26 Michigan School Aid Act to provide additional educator compensation to eligible employees. The Letter of Agreement — entered with multiple employee associations — states Section 27L funds are legislated pass-through monies and specifies that eligible regularly scheduled employees will receive off-schedule payments on May 22, 2026; substitutes, student workers, Schedule-B positions and certain other non-regular staff are excluded.
The agreement specifies payment tiers based on hire date and FTE. Examples in the agreement include full-time employees hired on or before Dec. 31, 2025 receiving 100% or $945.00, while similarly full-time employees hired between Jan. 1 and May 8, 2026 would receive 100% or $472.50 (differentials apply by FTE band). The agreement is enforceable under the grievance and arbitration procedures of the collective bargaining agreements and remains in effect until all Section 27L revenue is disbursed.
