Member Terryn moved “that the Board of Education move into closed session to conduct the superintendent evaluation pursuant to MCL 15.268(1)(a),” and Member Kermode seconded; the motion carried on a 7-0 roll call. The regular session was dismissed to closed session at 5:02 p.m. and the meeting returned to open session at 6:34 p.m.
After the board reconvened, Superintendent Kirby thanked board members “for their feedback and support.” The minutes do not record any evaluation details from the closed session. No formal personnel action or vote on the superintendent was recorded in the public minutes of the special meeting.
