Budget workshop: fire capital down $45,000; Appraisal District increase raises county portion to $17,551

She told the court the Fire Department had significantly decreased its capital outlay by $45,000 and that the county lowered solid waste tipping fees after a spike in debris hauling subsided.
Johnson also reported that the Appraisal District increased its total budget by $57,946, which raised the County's portion to $17,551. The court discussed several departmental and facility needs during the workshop — including pavilion restroom repairs, an additional tent for the beef conference, and staffing requests for the Tax Assessor/Collector — and agreed to pursue quotes and revisit staffing after additional collections.
