Jennifer McCord urges DOT help after Keizer Lake culvert overtopped, boat ramp damaged

Jennifer McCord, president of the Blaise Lake Association, told the Route 114 corridor team that the culvert nearest Andrews Avenue overtopped in 2021 and “wiped out our ramp,” prompting emergency repairs paid for by the association.
McCord said the culvert is undersized and that the association spent “up [front] of probably $50,000 in total” on temporary fixes. “We could have another big storm and it could wipe out our boat ramp again because that culvert is undersized,” she said, urging the project team and DOT to prioritize drainage and underdrain solutions rather than repeatedly surface-paving over failing substructure. She added the group will pursue a wetlands permit to finish boat-ramp repairs when the lake is lowered in 2028.
