On final reading the City of Callaway commission approved a package of land-use actions affecting a 2.095‑acre parcel at 6305 Highway 22 (Parcel ID 06290000000). The three ordinances adopted were: 11-48 (voluntary annexation), 11-49 (small-scale comp plan amendment to commercial future land use), and 11-50 (rezoning from Bay County R-2 duplex/manufactured housing to City of Callaway Highway Commercial).
City staff said the ordinances were the follow-through of prior proceedings (first readings and public notices) and confirmed no changes were requested since the first readings. During public hearings no members of the audience offered comment on the annexation, comp‑plan amendment, or rezoning. Commissioners moved and approved the measures on final reading; the clerk recorded unanimous votes.
The ordinances provide that the annexation takes effect upon passage and the comp-plan and rezoning take effect as provided by law. Staff and commissioners noted these actions are preparatory steps for potential commercial development on the parcel.
