Kevin (Speaker 6) reported he has had preliminary discussions with CDOT and that, "they think that they would allow another mid block crossing for the Rio Grande Trail if we could just realign the section instead of going at an angle." Kevin said that design change could render an underpass unnecessary and take the underpass off the long-term project list.
Trustees welcomed the possibility but emphasized the need for staff and CDOT to confirm feasibility and costs. The board directed staff to continue coordination with CDOT and to report back on design options and implications for other corridor priorities.
