The Lorain County Board of Commissioners approved Resolution No. 26-128 awarding a contract for 2026 Highway Department materials to Mesenburg Bros. Inc. of Collins, Ohio for $136,832.50.
Lorain County Engineer Ken Carney presented the bids opened on Feb. 6 and recommended Mesenburg Bros. as the lowest responsive bidder; the engineer’s official estimate at bid opening had been $200,000. The resolution records other bids and notes one bidder (Amrize) was non‑responsive for not bidding all items. Commissioners voted to approve the contract and to fund the purchase from the Engineer Materials account.
