Lorain County commissioners confirm investments and approve major appropriations

The Lorain County Board of Commissioners on Feb. 24 adopted a series of routine financial measures, confirming investment interest payments and approving appropriations and transfers to cover county operations.
By unanimous vote the board approved Resolution No. 26-119 to confirm interest payments on U.S. Treasury and Federal Home Loan Bank notes and then adopted Resolution No. 26-120 authorizing appropriations that included $285,000 to Recorder operations, $906,000 for County TIF contract services and $425,000 for hotel/motel debt service. Commissioner Marty Gallagher moved the appropriation resolution; Commissioner David J. Moore seconded and the ayes were Moore, Gallagher and Jeff Riddell.
The board also approved account transfers, travel authorizations and payment of vendor invoices across general and special revenue funds. The payment list included routine repairs, equipment leases and supply contracts. Commissioner Moore, who participated in the roll calls, noted the motions were standard budgetary housekeeping that keep departments funded for ongoing operations.
