Crow Wing County approved several planning items on Oct. 14, including the final plat for Leffler Acres (personal ID 53040576, Section 4, Center Township) and both a preliminary and final plat for Axel's Land (parcel 88310577). Planning staff said the planning commission and the Board of Adjustment had held public hearings and recommended approval; the board moved, seconded and approved the items by voice vote.
The board also approved land-use map amendments. One request (parcel 77190503 in Mission Township) was amended from Shoreland and rural residential 2.5 to commercial to allow a commercial storage facility and outdoor storage; Mission Township sent a letter of support and the planning commission recommended unanimous approval. A separate amendment (approximately 80 acres in Saint Matthias Township) to reclassify agricultural-forestry land to rural residential 5 was approved after staff presented findings and a public hearing record. A later item prompted the chair’s recusal for a family relationship; the item passed with one recorded abstention. Planning staff summarized application findings and recommended approval as submitted.
