Community Services outlines funding mix; county levy remains largest share of departmental revenue

April said the accounting team manages more than 60 grants and processes roughly 1,100 invoices each month, using batch claiming and other IT efficiencies to reduce staff time. Commissioners requested historical breakdowns of federal/state/levy percentages; staff agreed to provide prior-year share data. The briefing emphasized that many program positions (including some public-health roles) are grant-funded and that accepting some grants is tied to statutory or local public-health responsibilities rather than discretionary expansion.
