County approves two stop signs at Old Flat Mile and 19th Road after city request
Summary
Following a city request to slow traffic near new building activity, Clay County commissioners approved two stop-sign placements and allowed the city to relocate an existing speed-limit sign.
Street Superintendent Ken Shivers and City Councilman Daton Hess asked the board to place an additional stop sign at Old Flat Mile & 19th Road to slow traffic around new building activity and requested permission to move the current speed limit sign. The board granted the city permission to move the speed limit sign to a location of its choosing.
Separately, commissioners approved motions to place stop signs at two locations: on 19th Road on the east side of Old Flat Mile for westbound traffic, and a separate placement for southbound traffic coming off Old Flat Mile before the dead end. Both motions were made and seconded and passed unanimously; a resolution will be drafted for at least one of the placements.
