Committee moves classification-plan changes for state's attorney investigators favorably
Summary
The committee voted to move CB 96-2024 and CR 86-2024 favorably to modify classification specifications and restore the state's attorney investigator position to the L salary schedule; OMB estimated seven of 12 investigators would require salary adjustments.
Council staff presented CB 96-2024 and companion CR 86-2024 to update the county classification plan for assistant state's attorney and state's attorney investigator job classes. Staff described occupational studies recommending specification and grade changes and restoration of the investigator position to the L salary schedule.
OMB indicated the enactment would not have a direct adverse fiscal impact because current incumbents are above minimum ranges, but noted seven of 12 state's attorney investigator incumbents would receive salary adjustments equating to approximately $60,833 for those positions. The committee voted to move both measures favorably out of committee.
Staff said agencies listed as recipients of classification and schedule changes will report implementation plans for the FY 2026 budget cycle as required by the bills.
