Council reviews committee report on police civilian bargaining agreement with $4.1M fiscal impact

The council received a Committee of the Whole report on CB 78-2024, a two-year collective bargaining agreement with the Prince George's County Police Civilian Employees Association. The settlement covers fiscal years 2025 and 2026, provides covered employees a 1.5% cost-of-living adjustment effective Jan. 26, 2025, a 2% adjustment effective April 5, 2026, and a 3.5% merit increase for eligible employees in both years.
"Covered employees will receive a 1.5 percent cost of living adjustment effective 01/26/2025," the committee representative reported. The Office of Management and Budget and budget analysts estimated a combined fiscal impact of $4,100,000 for FY25 and FY26. The Office of Law found the bill to be in proper legislative form with no legal impediments.
