Residents and attorney urge reconsideration of variance and raise concerns about Ordinance 02-26

Three members of the public addressed the board during the Community Comments portion of the July 21 meeting.
Jeremy Lund of Siegel Barnett & Schultz Attorneys spoke first and expressed concern about Ordinance 02-26, saying it "would prevent new colonies from coming into and expanding within Clark County with restrictions of number of dwellings per quarter of land." Marty Mack asked the commission to reduce front-yard and side-yard setbacks on a low-traffic dead-end road and compared Clark County setbacks to neighboring counties. Alissa Christianson spoke about a variance that had been denied by the board, described work completed on the structure, and asked the board to approve the previously denied variance.
The minutes record the public comments but do not show the board taking immediate action on those requests during the meeting. States Attorney Fjelland later advised the board not to discuss Planning and Zoning decisions during the appeals window.
