Board approves updated policies, superintendent salary recommendation and CSBA delegate nomination

The San Mateo County Board of Education acted on several administrative items at its Nov. 20 meeting. On a motion by Board Member Beverly Gerard, seconded by Board Member Susan Alvaro, the Board unanimously approved the updated policies presented on second reading.
The Board also approved a recommendation from the Superintendent's Salary Subcommittee aimed at making the base salary more comparable to similar county offices; the motion was moved by Board Member Jim Cannon and seconded by Board Member Hugo Torres and passed unanimously. Finally, the Board nominated Beverly Gerard to the California School Boards Association Delegate Assembly — County Boards, with a motion by Susan Alvaro and second by Hugo Torres approved by roll call.
These actions were recorded as unanimous roll call votes with trustees Alvaro, Bonini, Camacho, Cannon, Gerard, Lempert and Torres voting yes.
