Clark County adopts Ordinance 02-26 after public concern raised about colony development

On July 21 the Clark County Board of Commissioners adopted Ordinance 02-26, a second-reading amendment to conditional uses and area regulations in the Agricultural District of the county zoning code.
Chairman Sara Gjerde read the ordinance title during the second reading. The board approved the measure by a motion from Commissioner Chris Sass, seconded by Commissioner David Spieker; all five commissioners voted aye.
During the public comment period prior to the vote, Jeremy Lund of Siegel Barnett & Schultz Attorneys expressed concern that the ordinance "would prevent new colonies from coming into and expanding within Clark County with restrictions of number of dwellings per quarter of land." The commission adopted the ordinance and placed it on file in the Auditor's office.
