Markesan council approves minutes, fee schedule, bearings purchase and operator licenses

The Markesan Common Council completed several administrative approvals on Jan. 13, 2026.
The council approved the Common Council minutes for Dec. 9, 2025 (motion Prill/Triemstra, carried 5-0) and approved several committee minutes by consensus. Council adopted a new 2026 Fee Schedule with an effective date of Jan. 13, 2026 (motion Prill/Abendroth; 6-0 on roll call). The purchase of two block bearings for the sewer plant, at $2,256.09 apiece, was approved (motion Abendroth/Lager; 6-0). The council granted Operator’s Licenses (period ending 6/30/2026) to Allison Bartz, Joan Lohry and Irene Sieglaff, stipulating that future applications be completed in full (motion Prill/Kazda; 6-0).
