Superintendent Nancy Magee used her comments to summarize recent professional gatherings and to describe an Employee Recognition Celebration held earlier the same day.
Magee said she attended a County Board Member Services Conference in Monterey and the California County Superintendents meeting in Madera County, and noted the county superintendents are maintaining priorities around building a diverse workforce, supporting multilingual students and students with disabilities, and whole-child outcomes. "She attended an informative session on charter schools and also attended the Shared Governance session with Board Member Gerard as a speaker," the minutes state, noting staff coordinators also presented on the Science of Reading.
Magee described the Employee Recognition Celebration: staff sang, played instruments, danced, and displayed arts and crafts; Core Cabinet dressed as Broadway characters. She recognized four board members who earned service pinsBoard President Bonini and Board Members Torres, Cannon and Lempertand congratulated recently promoted staff members introduced that evening.
