The San Mateo County Board of Education on Dec. 18 elected Hugo Torres as Board President for 2025 and Beverly Gerard as Vice President, each by unanimous roll-call vote after nominations during the organization portion of the meeting. Superintendent Nancy Magee presided over the organization proceedings and administered oaths to re-elected and newly elected trustees earlier in the evening.

"I look forward to working with the Board in 2025," Superintendent Magee said during her remarks. The Board recessed briefly for a reception honoring Bonini before resuming regular business.
